Graduation - 15th July 2015

Graduation has to be one of the best days I’ve had this year, my family were so proud of me which made me extremely happy. I had to be at uni for 8.15am which meant being awake for around 6am, I will admit it was a struggle but I was so excited for the day ahead.

The day before graduation my two year old nephew ruined a surprise my mum had planned for me, he had been out shopping with her and ran in shouting “CAKE IN CAR, CAKE IN CAR, NANNY GOT CAKE IN CAR” which really made me laugh a lot, I knew straight away my mum had planned a cake and had surprises for the meal we were going to after graduation. Although the cake surprise was ruined I felt happy that Harris was so excited by my cake that he just wanted to tell me haha.
At Uni I met up with my friends and got registered, then it was time to get our robes, the part I was really excited for (even though I wasn’t happy my fringe had to be pushed out my face although I had hairspray it to death that morning resulting in my fringe going in all sort of directions when I took my hat off ha!)

The ceremony was long but I’m glad I went to it, the thing that made it feel even longer was the fact I’d downed a bottle of water as I’d first sat down, half an hour into the ceremony I was dying for a wee!! So annoying! We graduated with Liam Fray, the lead singer of Manchester band The Courteeners which was quite cool! It was time for my class to queue up and walk across the stage one by one, luckily we were going up in three’s which took the pressure off a little. Myself and my friend Shaf walked up together (and another person in my class but by that point my head had already blurred and I couldn’t hear anything else around me except the screams and chants coming from my friends and family which was really nice but extremely nerve-wracking!

After graduation was over we went straight outside for photos with the class and my lecturer, I met back up with my family and had more photos. After some food (as I had eaten all morning) I handed my robes back (sob!) and headed home.

After an hour or so of napping myself and Luke got ready again and jumped in a taxi ready to meet my family who were already out waiting for us at the restaurant. The table was decorated with Congratulation balloons which was lovely! (Thanks mum).

After we’d had the meal the waitress decided to bring my cake over which was the best cake ever, an Avengers cake, chosen by my 2 year old nephew (it was either that or a football one and my brother knew I’d love the avengers cake).

I absolutely loved graduation and felt so proud graduating with my class. Lovely day & memories I’ll keep with me forever!
